FREDERICKSBURG TO SALUTE WOUNDED WARRIORS

FREDERICKSBURG, TX, April 6, 2008 --- On Sunday May 4, Rockbox Theater, the Fredericksburg Rotary Club, the Nimitz Museum, and a number of local restaurants will host forty wounded soldiers from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio for a day of rest and relaxation in the Hill Country. The May 4th event, called Wounded Warriors, reaches out to the military men and women currently reside at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, a premier facility for military medical procedures.

The servicemen and women and their families will board buses at BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center) and arrive mid-morning in Fredericksburg.  Following lunch and shopping along Main Street, the group will attend the 1:30 matinee at Rockbox Theater.  Regarding their attendance, Wendy Hearn at Rockbox Theater says, “Our resident cast ends every show with a thank-you to the American soldier; and, we will be honored by the presence of these young warriors and their families.  The May 4th Wounded Warriors is our inaugural event; and, we appreciate the financial support of the Fredericksburg Rotary and our Rockbox patrons who have sponsored these soldiers and their families.”

Tickets to the Wounded Warriors Rockbox show on Sunday May 4th can be purchased by calling the ticket office at (830)997-7625.  Donations to help fund additional costs of Wounded Warriors can be made directly to the Fredericksburg Rotary Club.  Ms Hearn adds, “We hope to continue providing this experience to more groups from Brooke Army Medical Center with another Wounded Warriors event in the near future; and, we invite anyone interested in sponsoring a soldier to contact us at the theater.”
